 News

July, 24, 2010
Good news this week from our General Physician which has been looking after us for about two years.  He said our blood work was the best he as ever seen it.  That and a weight loss of 13 pounds since January, 2010 made for a good medical report.  Thank you for all who keeps us in your prayers.  To God be the Glory for Great things He hath done!  Also good news pertaining to our knee replacement surgery.  When we went to our Orthopedic Surgeon on July 13, 2010 for our three month checkup the report was good.  In fact it was so good that the six month checkup was waved and I was told that unless I had problems not to come back until the one year anniversary of the surgery which will be April 2011.  Again to this we can also say to God be the Glory for great things He hath done!

May 13, 2010
Our recovery from knee replacement surgery continues to improve and for that we give God all the glory.  We still have three more weeks of therapy before we can be released to again carry on with a full schedule.  Please continue to hold us up in prayer before the Lord.
............................................................................

April 27, 2010
My knee replacement surgery went off as scheduled on April 19th and I was discharged from the Hospital on Thursday, April 22nd.
I now have about five weeks of recovery at home, of which two weeks will be with a Physical Therapist who will come to my house and after I get my staples removed I will then commute to a clinic for Physical Therapy until at least June 1, 2010.  Please keep me in your prayers.
Right now I am unable to schedule any preaching dates but do have one scheduled for May 19, 2010, feeling that by that time I will be able to travel short distances and speak at local churches.
Also pray that God will provide our financial needs during this period as we are not able to do any work on the side and the support that we receive monthly is put toward the putting forth of the Gospel.

April 18, 2010
Tomorrow, April 19, 2010 I will be entering the Alamance Regional  Medical Center, Burlington, NC to have knee replacement surgery.  Please keep me in your prayers.
We are glad to report that the wood for the roof as been erected on the Grove Baptist Church in the Nigerian Bush with all costs for labor, supplies, and hauling of materials being met.  For this we give God the Glory!  Please continue to pray that the funds needed to purchase the Zinc to cover the roof with will soon come in.
If you would like to have a part in this you can send you gift to
A Look At The Book, P.O. Box 2051, Burlington, NC 27216.  Earmark it for the Church Roof and every cent of it will go for that particular project.

March 15, 2010
Last Wednesday night we gave a report on our ministry at the Alamance County Missions Conference in Burlington, NC.  We also showed a couple of pictures of how far the building has come at the Grove Baptist Church in Nigeria.  The people saw the need to get the roof on the building and I told them that we needed $1500.00 to finish paying for the lumber that was ordered.  Also we told them that we had eight cases of Bibles to ship which would cost over $400.00.  Near the end of the service one of the Pastor's asked me how much more I needed to ship the Bibles and I told him that I already had $110.00 that the church who gathered the Bibles gave me to help on the shipping.
At the end of the service the Pastor asked that anyone wanting to help with giving the other $300.00 to come up and put it in the offering plate and people started responding to the need.  Then another Brother stood up and said that he had $500.00 to give toward the roof lumber and asked that others help him toward the $1500.00 needed.  At the end of the night when we left the church we had with us a total of $1808.00.  Both of the needs were met that evening and to that we give God the Glory.
Please pray that the rest of the money to complete the church building well soon come in.  It will take somewhere in the neighborhood of $6,000.  This amount could increase as inflation is raising the cost of goods each day in Nigeria.

March 4, 2010
It has been sometime since we have given you any news, the main reason being we have had a glitch in getting into our website to make changes.  Today our webmaster corrected that.  Much has been going on since I last posted any news.  If you read our home page you can see what process has been made toward the completion of the Grove Baptist Church in the Nigerian Bush.

One other bit of good news to report:  Last Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 my youngest daughter Bethany Faith and her husband Carlton presented Sharon and I with our first grand daughter and our second grand child "Carly Faith Matkins"  7lbs 11oz.  Please keep them in your prayers.

November 27, 2009
Today we received an estimate for putting the roof on the Grove Baptist Church Building located at Ayen Village in the Nigerian Bush.  With the rise of inflation in Nigeria this estimate for the materials to complete the roof inside and out including the ceiling comes to 843,300 NGN or 5816.00USD at the current exchange rate.  Would you please pray about helping us with this project that we may get this building completed by the end of February, 2010.

September 16, 2009
Due to our website software needing to be reloaded it has been awhile since I have been able to post any news.  Much has been going on in our work here at A Look at the Book during the past year.  The biggest project though is trying to complete the building for Grove Baptist Church, Ayen Village, Nigeria.  In the past three weeks we were able to send $2,000.00US to Brother Godstime Evbota to continue the work.  But we are still in need of approximately $4,000.00Us to complete the project.  Please pray about helping us with this need.  I will have more to say about it when our next prayer letter is printed after October 1, 2009.  Also our health continues to be good at the present time.
Please keep us in your prayers.

December 1, 2008
Today I am posting an update on my health.  As many of you may not know I made a third Mission Trip to Nigeria the week of October 26, 2008.  The Lord blessed in a great way with 927 souls responding to the invitations given.
I returned home on November 3, 2008 and on November 12, 2008 I started to feel sick like I had the flu.  On Thursday Morning, November 13, 2008 I started for home from my brother's house in Charleston, W.Va.  After driving about 85 miles I could not keep my eyes open feeling very tired and chilled.  I went to the local hospital at Princeton, W.Va. and was admitted for tests.  Two days later they discovered that I had Malaria (a very strong case of it) and transferred me to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.  For a few days my condition was very serious and life threatening.  But God was merciful and the prayers of many of God's people were heard and I am now on the road to recovery.  Please continue to Pray for us.

October 22, 2008
I would like to share with you a very urgent prayer request.  My good friend and co-worker in the Lord, Brother Evbota Godstime of Benin City, Nigeria only daughter is very ill.  Would you please if you are reading this today or whenever remember Rachel Marie Evbota in very special prayer.
God Bless

July 27, 2008
It has been a couple of months now since we have updated the news page.  We have been busy trying to prepare for an upcoming mission trip to Nigeria scheduled for Oct. 26-Nov. 3, 2008.  Please pray for us as we are preparing the lessons to teach and raising the funds needed for this trip.
Also we are in need of money to complete the building of the Grove Baptist Church in Ayen Village, Nigeria.  Work is under way but can only continue as the needed funds come in.  As of now we have had a total of $5100.00 raised for this project that is expected to cost somewhere around $10,500.00-$11,500.00.
Finally, we asked for your continued prayers for us and our ministry.  Please pray that many doors will be opened in the days to come.  If you would like to give to the building project you can make your gift out to "A Look at the Book Ministries" and designate it for: Grove Baptist Building Fund.  All money given will be wired to Brother Godstime in Nigeria.  We will pay the Western Union transfer fees.
............................................................................

On Sunday evening, May 11, 2008 at 5:25pm EDT my mother, Gertrude R. Neary of Charleston, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord.  She was 86 years of age.  Mother will be sorely missed by me and my siblings for she was truly everything that a mother should be.  It was fitting that she leave this world on Mother's Day.
Mother was a great supporter of this ministry and always referred to me as her "preacher boy."  Please pray for my family and I as we go through this time of adjustment.  Her funeral will be on Friday, May 16, 2008 and I will help conduct it.
.............................................................................
May 7, 2008
From April 27-30 we were blessed to preach in revival services at the Landmark Baptist Church of Asheboro, NC.  God gave us great liberty to preach and help these dear people.  Though no one was saved during the meetings the church members were very receptive to the preaching of the word of God and responded each service by coming forward to get closer to God.
I am so thankful to Pastor Frank Barrett and the members of this wonderful church for their friendship to me over the years.

March 16, 2008
On Thursday evening, March 13, 2008 I had the privilege to speak and share the burden of A Look at the Book with a number of Pastor's and Churches that were in attendance at the annual Alamance Baptist Missions Conference.
While giving the report on our recent trip to Nigeria I told of the need for a church building in Ayen Village located in the Nigerian Bush.  In my report on the Nigerian Trip on our home page I listed the need of $6,000.00 to construct this church.  But due to inflation in Nigeria the cost is really around $10,500.00.   At the end of the service one of the Pastor's stood up and said that God had burdened his heart to help raise this money and that his church would give $1,000.00 toward the cost and challenged the other Churches to do the same.  Then a second Pastor said that his church would match it with a gift of $1,000.00. On Friday night at the close of the conference another $150.00 came in for a total of $2150.00 toward the needed amount.
Maybe you would like to have a part in this great undertaking for the poor people of the Nigerian Bush.  If so you can make your checks out to "A Look at the Book Ministries" and mail them to me at 809 Kenwood Drive Burlington, NC 27215.
Please pray that the rest of this money can be raised and a building constructed for the propagating of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in this village.  Also continue to pray for us that many doors will be opened to us in the days to come
God Bless
Bro. Doug Neary

Feb. 5, 2008
This is our first news entry for 2008 and we have some good news to report.  From Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008-Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 we again had part in the Camp Meeting at the Bethel Baptist Church of Holly Hill, Florida.  This year the emphasis was on getting people into Bethel Baptist Church which has been down for awhile due mainly to the health problems of their good pastor, Bro. David Transeau.
We had the privilege of preaching on Wednesday night and when the invitation was given a man who had been invited earlier in the day by a member who was out with the mission teams in the community received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.  To this we give God the Glory.  Also on Friday night we were able to give a report of the recent Mission Trip to Nigeria.
Please pray that our burden for the furtherance of the Gospel will be felt by others.
God Bless
Bro. Doug Neary

October 26, 2007
Much has happened since our last news update.  As you can see we have a redesigned web site which will cost us much less than what we were paying for the other one.  Plus before long we hope to be able to offer audio sermons via MP3.
We have preached in several churches since our last update and also had a change to present the work that God has called us to do.
This Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 we will be leaving along with Bro. Ricky Cox for another Nigerian Mission Trip.  We are looking forward to seeing once again Brother Evbota Godstime and all the others that we worked with two years ago in Benin City, Nigeria.  But more than anything we are praying that God will use us to preach the Gospel of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that their will be a great response to it among the Nigerian people.  We will give a report on it when we get back.
Also we are looking forward to visiting the village of Ayen where the Grove Baptist Church as been organized.  This is the church that is on our front page that we are trying to raise the money to erect a Church Building.
Please remember us in your prayers and we will update you on our return from Nigeria.
And one other bit of good news: Brother Godstime and his wife are the proud parents of a little girl, yet unnamed born yesterday evening 26 Oct. 2007.
God Bless
Bro. Doug Neary
..............................................................................................June 20, 2007
In the past month God has been so good to us here at a Look at the Book. He has blessed us by providing every need that the ministry had in the last month. We were able also during the month to send offerings to Nigeria and India to help in the work there as well as help a family who was going through some financial woes in our own neighborhood. Remember the second greatest commandment is to love our neighbor as ourself.
On Saturday, June 16, 2007 our youngest daughter Bethany Faith became the bride of Carlton Matkins leaving my wife Sharon and I with a empty nest. The wedding was beautiful and I believe God ordained. Pray for the newlyweds as they begin a new life together.
We continue to get ready for the Nigerian Mission trip on October 28, 2007. If your church or ministry could allow us to come and present the burden for this trip please get in touch with us at (336) 263-7294. There is no distance to far to travel for the work of the Lord. Please continue to pray that many souls will be saved as we go forth for His Glory. On June 10th we preached in the morning and evening services and taught a training union class as well at the Beulah Baptist Church in Bennett, NC. The church was very gracious in giving a wonderful offering to our ministry.
God Bless

May 21, 2007
It has been awhile since we updated our news page. Many things have happened since then.
Our ministry was involved in the following: In March we had the opportunity to share our burden at the annual Alamance County Baptist Missions Conference.
April 4-7 we took part in Camp Meeting services at the Bethel Baptist Church Holly Hill, Florida. Brother David Transeau is the good pastor and we preached the final message of the opening night.
On Easter Sunday, April 8th we preached the Sunrise Service at the Antioch Baptist Church of Burlington, NC. Brother Steve Loy is the Pastor.
We preached in the 11:00am service at the Pilgrim Baptist Church of Burlington, NC on April 29th. They also took up an extra offering for Bible Shipping. Brother Uston McKenzie is the pastor.
We had the privilege to preach in the Morning Service on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Lens Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Hernshaw, West Virginia where Brother Greg Johnson is the pastor. This was a special blessing to us because it is the church that we were saved in by the Grace of God over 37 years ago. The members of the church also gathered up a number of KJV Bibles for the Nigerian Bible project and also received a nice offering for our ministry.
Also we finished another year at the Greensboro Bible Institute and must begin to get ready for the 2007-2008 school year as we are again scheduled to teach three classes each Monday night.
We are continuing to prepare for the October trip to Nigeria. Please pray that many souls will be saved even before we get there.
God Bless
Bro. Doug

Feb. 14, 2007
Just an update to what is going on with us at "A Look at the Book." February has been a busy month for us with our teaching at the Bible Institute, producing Radio Broadcasts, and also being scheduled to preach on three different occasions thus far.
Last week my wife, Sharon and I had the privilege to attend the Smokey Mountain Gospel Jubilee in Pigeon Forge, TN. Our hearts were blessed and strengthened spiritually with the preaching and singing in these services. God's people need to be recharged from time to time as they stay in the battle against the forces of darkness.
Please continue to pray for our ministry. Also pray for our son in law, Brother Shane Gaydon who announced his call into the Gospel Ministry this past week. Please pray that God will use him in a great way for His Glory.
God Bless
Bro. Doug Neary

Jan. 26, 2007
This morning we received a call from Pastor Evbota Godstime, Director of Spread the Word Ministries in Benin City, Nigeria. We also received an e-mail from him outlining the dates for our scheduled return to Nigeria to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The dates are: October 29-November 4, 2007.
Please pray that God will not only meet the financial need for this Crusade but will also meet the Spiritual Need in preparing us for the job that lies ahead.
Also please pray with me about conducting a meeting in the area where I grew up and was saved almost 37 years ago, Hernshaw, W.Va. My heart is burdened for this area and I asked that you pray that a church would call me for a meeting or I could rent a hall there to have one for His Glory.

Jan. 22, 2007
It has been awhile since we have put anything on the news page. We have been very busy the past three months. One of the greatest blessings that we had was on Dec. 29, 2006 my daughter and her husband presented us with our first grandchild. A boy named Joshua Douglas Gaydon. What a blessing he has already become.
We have gotten off to a good start preaching and sharing our burden for our ministry in 2007. The first two Sunday's of January we spoke in four different churches. Please pray that many more doors will open. Also we are back at the Bible Institute teaching three classes on Monday nights.
Please pray as we are planning on returning to Nigeria in October 2007. Continue to pray for Pastor Godstime as he continues to minister among those who need the gospel in Nigeria.
We have added two more sermon titles that can be ordered on CD or Cassette. You can find these listed on our Sermons on Tape and CD page.
Please continue to pray for us as we go forth for the Glory of God
Bro. Doug

Oct. 4, 2006
Please continue to pray for Pastor Evbota Godstime in Nigeria. He continues to fight an illness and has need of some very expensive medication. Please keep him and his ministry in your prayers.
Sept. 6, 2006
Just thought that I would give you an update.
Everything seems to be going fine with my new knee. For this I praise the Lord!
This past Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 I was able to visit the Lens Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Hernshaw, W.Va. On Sunday morning and Sunday Evening. They have a new Pastor, Bro. Greg Johnson who I believe has the hand of God on him. He allowed me to come back on Sunday night and give about a 30 minute report on the Nigerian Mission Trip. What made this so special was because this is the church that I was saved in on March 30, 1970. What a blessing this was.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers,
Bro. Doug

Great News! I went to the Doctor today for my six weeks check up following my knee replacement surgery. He was pleased with how excellent the healing was and told me that I could resume a full schedule. To this I give God the Glory! Please pray for us that we will now see many open doors to share the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and share the burden for Nigeria. Please pray that we could come to your church sometime and represent the Lord.
God Bless
Bro. Doug Neary

August 19, 2006
My health continues to improve. For this we give God the Glory! Yesterday I quit using a cane to walk with and I feel that it will not be long until I am able to resume my full schedule. I am able to stand for long periods of time without having to hold on to something.
This past week I was able to attend camp meeting services on three different occasions and was able to stand and sing with the congregation, something that I had not been able to do for a quite awhile before the surgery.
During these camp meeting services I was able to make some contacts with some Pastors and some have said that they are going to schedule me to come and speak to their church. Please continue to pray that many doors will be opened in the days to come.

August 7, 2006
Just thought I'd give you an update on our physical condition. It has been three weeks now since I had the total knee replacement and my recovery seems to be going well. I am able to drive my personal vehicle and walk with a cane. Again to this I give God the Glory.
I still don't feel that I am able to return to preaching in the pulpit as of yet. I have been able to return to teaching the Adult Bible Class at my church. But I do this sitting down. Please pray that I will soon be able to stand and teach before long.
Please continue to pray for our ministry that we will be found faithful in doing the will of God. We will be returning to the Greensboro Bible Institute in September for the 18th year and we look forward to this. Also please pray that their will be many doors opened for us in the coming days.
May God Bless you,
Bro. Doug Neary

July 24, 2006
Greetings in the Wonderful Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
It's been sometime now since I have posted anything with the Ministry News. We continue to receive money from churches toward the cost of shipping Bibles to Nigeria. For this we praise the Lord. Brother Cassidy at Spread the Word Ministries USA office in Concord, NC has been able to ship Bibles almost weekly and Brother Godstime in Nigeria has been receiving and distributing them to those that need them in Nigeria.
Secondly, I would like to report that the Total Knee Replacement Surgery that I had asked you to pray about for my left knee was performed on Monday, July 17th at the local hospital here in Burlington, NC. I also want to praise God to the Highest that the surgery was successful and I was released from the hospital on Thursday, July 20th, one day earlier than planned because my recovery was going so well. I am now at home taking therapy and progressing nicely. I hope to be able to continue my daily tasks in a few weeks if all goes well. This surgery and recovery would not have had these great results if God's people around the world had not prayed for me. Thank you and God Bless you so much.
Finally, I am going to be a Grandfather in December 2006. My oldest daughter Tricia Hope and her husband Shane Gaydon are expecting a son. Children are a blessing from the Lord and I am looking forward to this blessing. Also my family is expanding another way; my youngest daughter Bethany Faith has gotten engaged and is planning a June 2007 wedding.
God Bless,
Bro. Doug Neary

May 14, 2006
Greetings on this Mother's Day. Just thought I'd give you an update of how God has been blessing our ministry.
Last Sunday morning we preached at the Pilgrim Baptist Church of Burlington, NC and they gave us an offering of $47.47 toward Bible shipping to Nigeria. Then on last Sunday evening we were invited to come to the New Hope Baptist Church of Burlington. When I shared the burden of getting the 12,000 Bibles to Nigeria at the local Mission Conference in March a Deacon from the church got that burden and went back and challenged the Sunday School Classes to try and raise a total of $600.00 during the month of April. They did far better than that; on last Sunday night the Sunday School Dept. of the New Hope Baptist Church presented us with a check of $1421.06 to help in shipping Bibles to the people of Nigeria. To God be the Glory!
This past Friday afternoon I received a phone call from Pastor Evbota Godstime and his wife Merritt in Nigeria telling me that they had received another four cases of Bibles.
Please continue to pray that money will keep coming in that we might be able to ship these Bibles weekly.
God Bless
Bro. Doug

April 9, 2006
I did not realize that it had been so long since I had posted anything on the news page.
Please forgive me.
The month of March was a very good month for our ministry. We were allowed to share the burden for the Nigerian Bible Project in the Alamance County Baptist Missionary Conference and also in one local church. From these two open doors we received $570.00 in gifts for shipment of Bibles to Nigeria. If you would like to help in this cause please send any gifts to A Look At The Book, 809 Kenwood Drive, Burlington, NC 27215. Earmark your gift for Bible shipping.
We have just completed another year at the Greensboro Bible Institute and we praise God for what was accomplished.
Please continue to pray for us as we look for more open doors for our ministry.

Feb. 4, 2006
We just returned from Holly Hill, Fla. where we participated in wonderful Camp Meeting at the Bethel Baptist Church. Pastor David Transeau was so kind to invite us to be a part of this meeting. He is a former student of the Greensboro Bible Institute and is doing a wonderful work for the Lord in Florida.
God met greatly with us in this meeting and it also gave me a chance to make contacts with other pastors and evangelists about our ministry and the Nigerian Bible Ministry. I had the opportunity to preach on Thursday Night, Feb. 2, 2006.
Please pray that I will receive many open doors to preach from this meeting.

December 30, 2005
As the year 2005 comes to an end we reflect back on how God has used the ministry of "A Look At The Book" during this year and we give Him praise for allowing us to be a part of His work. We still are rejoicing over the Nigerian Crusade and how that so many off our friends and churches had a part in this work for the Glory of God.
Pastor Evbota Godstime has posted a report on his web page and some pictures pertaining to my visit to Nigeria. It can be found by going to www.spreadthewordministries.org/mission5.htm
I believe this will get you there. If not go to www.spreadthewordministries.org and highlight the details.
Please continue to pray for us as we go into 2006. I have asked the Lord to open many doors for our ministry and possibly some more Mission Trips. Also pray that the needed support will come in for this ministry and also for Spread the Word Ministries and Pastor Godstime so that we might see the Spiritual needs met for the people of Nigeria.
God Bless

November 30, 2005
We praise God for taking us to Nigeria and back without any problems. We preached in Nigeria 15 times and saw over 600 precious souls come to the Lord. Please pray for the people of Nigeria as their is still a great need in this country of more than 130 million people. Pastor Godstime has asked us to return in October 2007 and God willing we plan to do that.
Again thank you for your prayers and support during our time of preparation for the Nigerian Crusade.
Bro. Doug Neary
October 16, 2005
God has been so good in meeting our needs for the Nigerian Crusade. In the last week and a half we have preached in four churches: New Hope Baptist Church, Burlington, NC; Landmark Baptist Church, Asheboro, NC; Tees Chapel FWB Church, Smithfield, NC; and Temple Baptist Church, Haw River, NC. These churches received us well and all gave gifts toward the expense of the trip to Nigeria. Also we picked up several more Bibles to ship to Nigeria. Please pray for us as the time of departure nears. We have at least four more churches to speak in. We have three open dates if your church would like for us to come and present the burden for Nigeria and preach. No distance is to far to travel for this. The open dates are Sunday evening, October 23rd; Sunday morning, October 30th and Sunday evening, October 30th. Please pray about having us come.
For His Glory,
Bro. Doug

October 5, 2005
Just an update on how things are going toward the upcoming Nigerian Crusade. God has opened doors for us to preach in some churches. This past Sunday we were at the True Gospel Baptist Church of Pelham, NC for the 11:00am worship service. Tonight we will preaching in the 7:00pm mid-week service at the New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington, NC. This Sunday, Oct. 9th we will be in the 11:00am worship service at the Landmark Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC. On Wednesday, Oct. 12th we will be in the 7:00pm mid-week service at the Tees Chapel FWB Church, Smithfield, NC. We will publish other locations in next weeks news. We continue to collect King James Version Bibles to send to Nigeria. If you have some and live within driving distance I would be glad to come by and pick them up. Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for the Crusade and also pray that the needed expenses come in. Recently we had a setback but it will not keep us from going to Nigeria. Please hold us up in prayer as the Devil would like to keep us from going.

God is so good! We stand amazed at how He is meeting the need for the Nigerian Crusade. Last night we spoke during Chapel Services at the Greensboro Bible Institute and shared with them the burden for the Nigerian Crusade. At the end of the service they received an offering to go toward the expense of the trip. It was a very good amount received.
Please continue to pray for us as we are scheduled to share our ministry with three churches the first three Sunday's in October. We are hoping that their will be more open doors between now and then. We continue to receive some Bibles. If you have Bibles and are in driving distance of Burlington, NC I will be glad to come by and pick them up. Feel free to call me at (336) 263-7294.

We continue to praise God for His goodness toward our ministry. We continue to receive gifts toward our travel expenses for Nigeria and for this we are so thankful.
Last night I was in a church service and shared my burden for collecting King James Bibles for Nigeria and after the service a dear preacher brother came up and handed me a nice large print Bible and told me to send it to Nigeria.
Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for this trip. Pray that we will have the messages prepared that God wants us to have and that we will be fully surrendered to God's will and have the power of the Holy Ghost on us as we go. Also pray as we have to get an adjustment made to our Visa because we applied for it to early it will expire while we are in Nigeria. I talked with a representative at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, DC and he said that it should be no trouble to get it taken care of. So again please continue to pray.

God is Good! We had been praying for more King James Version Bibles to come in and this week has seen prayer answered. On Monday morning I went by a Bus Company and they had two there that had been in lost and found and they gave them to me after I told them of my collecting Bibles for Nigeria. Then Monday evening when I went to the Greensboro Bible Institute to work registration they gave me about six boxes with a number of King James Bibles, King James New Testaments and quite a few gospel tracts. For this we praise the Lord!
Please continue to pray for the Nigerian Crusade. What a great opportunity God has given me to preach the gospel, but with that opportunity comes a great responsibility and accountability. So please hold me up in prayer.

We are praising God for His Goodness and Mercy.
Yesterday our Visa arrived from the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, DC. We are now one step closer to going to Nigeria and preaching the riches of His Grace. Please continue to pray that we will be able to have all expenses paid before we leave in November.
If we could come to your church and present our burden if would be such blessing to do so. Please pray about this. Thank you for your prayers and support.

God is so wonderful. His mercies are from everlasting to everlasting. We have completed the study topics for the School of Mission Seminar that will be conducted in Benin City, Nigeria when we go there in November. I have e-mailed them to Pastor Godstime. Each time something is completed or falls in place the burden to preach and share the Gospel with those in Nigeria increases.
Please keep praying for more Bibles to come in. We had five more given to us this morning. That may not seem like much but each number given makes the number grow for Nigeria.
Also keep praying that the Visa will soon arrive. It will make my heart rejoice to get this out of the way.
Continue to pray that more support will come in for the transportation costs to Nigeria. Also pray that our regular support for the Radio and Tape Ministry will increase in the days to com.
God Bless,
Bro. Doug Neary

We praise God for His goodness and mercy. Our home church, Solid Rock Baptist Church of Burlington, NC started a mission offering for us during the month of July. This past Sunday they presented us with a gift of $110.00. This may not seem to be much but they will be receiving offerings each week for our ministry and presenting them to us at the end of the month. Today we sent off our application and paper work to the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, DC for our Visa to enter Nigeria. Please pray that this will be approved without any problems. The cost of the Visa counting postage was $127.40. We thank God that each expense has been met thus far. If the Visa is approved I will then try to purchase my Airline ticket to Nigeria plus wire money to Pastor Godstime to get my ticket to fly from Lagos to Benin City once I get to Nigeria. This will be the most expensive part of this mission undertaking. Please pray that the funds will come in and I will not have this expense to pay when I return from Nigeria in November.

We are making progress in preparing for the upcoming Nigerian Crusade. Please pray for us as we are preparing to apply for our Visa.
We have received about 10% of the needed funds to make this trip. Please pray about helping this ministry with a gift toward this cause. As you know I never ask for anything on the Broadcasts but this is a special thing that I believe that God would have me to ask others to help. All money will be accounted for and used toward this mission trip. All gifts that come into A Look At The Book go toward the expenses for Broadcast time, tapes, and postage. All gifts I receive for preaching and for teaching at the Greensboro Bible Institute go toward the expense of this ministry. May God Bless you.

This week we have had a total of 16 KJV Bibles given to us. We praise God for these but we still need many more. Our total on hand at this time is 74. If you have a dollar type store in your area you can purchase KJV Paperback Bibles for $1.00 each. Just think what $10.00 or $20.00 could do toward getting the Word of God in the hands of those in Nigeria who do not have it. Continue to pray as we prepare for the Nigerian Crusade in November, 2005. We still are a long way from having the needed funds for this trip.

Today we had some funds given toward the cost of our transportation to Nigeria. Though it is just a small percentage of that needed it is still encouraging to get this. Please continue to pray that the rest will come in quickly. Yesterday I talked with Pastor Godstime via telephone in Nigeria. I makes me want to get there more than ever to share the Gospel message with these dear people and teach those who want to go out for the service of the Lord.

Continue to pray as we prepare for the upcoming Crusade in Benin City, Nigeria. Also continue to send your King James Version Bibles to us. Also we will be glad to get any tracts that you might would like to send that are based on the KJV.
